An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.

This incident does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to turn back to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
