David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards young women.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
