On Monday, the tribunal heard communication data and information recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most widely reported investigations and is still unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate recorded message, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "What if there is a tiny probability that I am she? Then what? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and claimed to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who collated the data, advised the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also contacted family friends of the McCanns, according to the call data.

On that date, Mr McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will persist and I plan to establish my point."

The court learned the co-defendant developed a connection online with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in the county in last December.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted using messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the months preceding the visit to the village, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court was told message exchanges between the two accused, in that autumn, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their residence, the defendant sent a text which stated: "We are sitting outside the McCanns' residence with our headlights off resembling private investigators. I desired to do this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
