Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
